How long should a company picnic last?
Too short and the picnic leaves a craving, too long and it tires people. How to find the sweet spot? It all depends on format and time of day.
Optimal length
For most companies, 4–6 hours works. That's enough for a welcome, the programme peak and a finale, without dragging that drains energy.
Sample schedule
Hour 1: welcome and opening zones. Hours 2–4: attractions, games and animations. Hour 5: finale, prizes, group photo. Evening (optional): a concert or bonfire.
How to keep energy up
The day's rhythm, a host and a few peak points prevent energy drops. Weave food breaks between activities.
